New Zealand drift star “Mad” Mike (no, not that 1) Whiddett is placing with each other a rotary-run, rear-wheel-push Mazda3 hatchback to get on the 2022 running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. This 1,200-horsepower monstrosity will deal with the 100th functioning of the earth-well known “Race to the Clouds.”
Information are trim for the time currently being, but its 4-digit electric power figures and rear-wheel drive are certain to mix in stunning trend. This year’s managing of the Hill Climb is slated to just take place the weekend of June 26th. Organizers assured that the annual Lover Fest in Colorado Springs will go as prepared, as will the race’s hall of fame induction ceremony. All of that is topic to alter because of to the ongoing pandemic, of course.
But even with any hypothetical issues about the occasion, the organizers say they foresee “unparalleled” fascination from all get-togethers (suppliers, teams and unique entries) this calendar year. When the celebration celebrated its centennial in 2016, a hiatus throughout Environment War II (1942-’45) will make 2022 the 100th official jogging of the occasion.
