Ford Motor Co said Monday it has joined the Initiative for Dependable Mining Assurance, which aims to boost use of third-party assessments of mining procedures to protect human rights.
Ford said its prepared investment in electric cars would enhance the company’s reliance on mined materials, specially relevant to production of EV batteries. As a portion of the initiative, Ford would collaborate with models across the marketplace to boost liable mining.
IRMA presents third-party verification and certification of mining procedures to protect human rights, communities and setting alongside the source chain. Previous 12 months, German luxury automaker BMW joined the initiative.
