The U.S. car security company on Tuesday disclosed it has opened an investigation into issues of gas leaks in older Chevrolet Cobalt compact automobiles and HHR wagons, created by General Motors.
The Countrywide Freeway Website traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated the investigation, which was opened on Sunday, handles much more than 614,000 automobiles from 2008 to 2010 model decades.
“The gas leaks are the result of corrosion of the steel gas traces underneath the automobile in direction of the rear and in the vicinity of the left rear wheel properly,” the regulator stated right after it been given 208 issues of gas leaks from automobile homeowners.
NHTSA stated there had been no stories of fires or accidents from these leaks, and it was probing the scope and severity of the probable difficulty to evaluate any achievable security concerns with the automobiles.
GM stated it will go on to cooperate with NHTSA in the investigation.
