The Unplugged Functionality Tesla Product S Plaid race car or truck lapped Laguna Seca more rapidly than a Porsche 911 GT2 RS in the arms of professional driver Randy Pobst, coming in next only to the McLaren Senna at California’s most prestigious highway class.
@Telsa Alien Technologies!
A new EV file at Laguna Seca! Darkish Helmet was pushed by @RandyPobst to a one:28.two at TeslaCorsa 16!
For reference swiftest manufacturing car or truck file is a McLaren Senna with a one:27.6. 2nd swiftest a Porsche 991 GT2 RS with a one:28:3. All 3 pushed by Randy. pic.twitter.com/05K34tkj5U— UNPLUGGED Functionality (@UnpluggedTesla)

“Another major day for the Unplugged Functionality Tesla Product S Plaid workforce,” Pobst posted to Instagram. “New EV lap file! With UP leaders Avi and Ben. 156 mph into Turn Two at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, astonishing pace from a luxury four-doorway sedan. This car or truck is not considerably at all from the stock street car or truck.”
The car or truck, recognized to the workforce as Darkish Helmet, ran a one:28.213 lap – just a tenth of a next more rapidly than the major-electricity track-spec Porsche and 6/10ths behind the track’s file-holder. All a few were being pushed by Pobst. Earlier this summer season, Unplugged Functionality took the Product S Plaid race car or truck up Pikes Peak, ending first in the exhibition course and tenth total at the globe-famed hill climb. Right after Pikes Peak, Pobst referred to as Darkish Helmet “the most lousy-to-the-bone electric car or truck at any time manufactured.”
