Stellantis adds more downtime at Illinois, Mexico plants

Stellantis options to lengthen summer months downtime at two of its assembly plants and start creation back up at a different.

Operations will be idle at the company’s Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois and Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico the week of July five because of the continuing results of the world semiconductor lack. Those people plants manufacture two Jeep models, the Cherokee and Compass crossovers.

In the meantime, the minivan-generating Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario will resume creation with two shifts starting the week of July five.

“Stellantis carries on to function closely with our suppliers to mitigate the production impacts caused by the many supply chain challenges facing our market,” Stellantis spokeswoman Jodi Tinson reported in a statement.
