Pietro Fittipaldi joins Romain Grosjean on Dale Coyne IndyCar team

Brazilian Pietro Fittipaldi will return to IndyCar this season with Dale Coyne Racing where he will husband or wife with previous Haas System 1 teammate Romain Grosjean, the group claimed on Thursday.

Fittipaldi, grandson of two-time System 1 Champion and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi, will only travel oval races for Dale Coyne with Grosjean taking more than the seat for street and highway programs.

“I’m extremely joyful to be racing the ovals this season,” claimed Fittipaldi in a statement. “I’m especially energized for the Indianapolis 500.

“It is really been a desire of mine because I was a kid to race in the Indy 500.

“I’m also extremely joyful to be sharing the car or truck with Romain (Grosjean). He is a great close friend of mine.

“Around the years at Haas F1 we have become mates and it’s good to be group mates with him all over again.”

Grosjean announced a shift from System 1 to IndyCar very last thirty day period stating he would not race on the far more perilous ovals for the sake of his loved ones.
