Hyundai, BMW and 5 other carmakers recall nearly 550,000 cars in Korea, Auto News, ET Auto

New Delhi: The South Korean Ministry for Land, Infrastructure and Transportation on Friday announced that it would recall 549,931 models of 126 styles from automakers including Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, BMW Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea, FCA Korea and Audi Volkswagen Korea in excess of defects.

In accordance to The Korea Herald report, the ministry has issued recall orders for 294,622 Hyundai Motor motor vehicles, including Santa Fes, which were located to have international substances like oil and moisture inside their braking modules. The defect poses a fireplace hazard, the ministry stated.

Cracks were located inside 241,921 cars produced by BMW, in seventy nine styles including the 520d the report stated incorporating that they were located to have cracks inside their exhaust gasoline coolers.

All around 757 motor vehicles of Kia’s Grand Carnival VQ were also found to be fireplace-inclined owing to defective gas pipes.

“Another fifty BMWs were located to have very poor protection for travellers, as the airbags on the aspect possibly unfolded way too forcefully, or did not completely unfold,” it mentioned.

Mercedes-Benz Korea located defective sunroof glass panels in 11,480 motor vehicles recalled, with 36 styles influenced, including the E280, which can pose a danger to the cars guiding the car as the glass panel can turn into detached, the report included.

Furthermore, the report further stated, 306 Audi Volkswagen A3 forty TFSIs did not move the ministry common for tire deflation warnings, according to the ministry. The automaker will be fined.

As per the ministry, for those who personal the cars on the recall record, the ministry will inform them by means of mail and text message.

“The authorities have stated that if a car owner has previously paid income to fix the defects located by the ministry, he or she can inquire the automaker to compensate them for their fees,” the Korea Herald stated.
