GM, VW halt some Mexican output on natural gas shortage

MEXICO City — Common Motors and Volkswagen are suspending some of their operations in Mexico owing to a pure gas shortage, though Audi will alter output in line with source, the automakers explained in different statements Wednesday.

GM explained it was compelled to halt operations at its plant in the central city of Silao on both Tuesday night and on Wednesday, and would resume once the gas source returned to an sufficient level.

The gas shortfall also prompted Volkswagen to announce it will suspend output on its Jetta design on Thursday and Friday, and on its Taos and Golf products just on Friday, the firm’s Mexico device explained.

Audi explained it will alter its output degrees dependent on the availability of pure gas, which it uses to make the Audi Q5 car at its plant in Puebla condition.
