2022 Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrids are prepped for the Rebelle Rally

Given that the Mitsubishi Outlander would not have a new plug-in hybrid design, the brand won’t be competing in the Rebelle Rally with electrical aid this 12 months. But Kia is buying up the baton by entering not one, but two 2022 Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrids in the all-females off-road race.

The Sorentos have been beefed up for the rough terrain, and in keeping with the all-females concept, they have been modified by the females-owned store, LGE-CTS. Just one-inch spacer have been fitted to the suspension for a modest carry alongside with chunky all-terrain tires on 17-inch KMC wheels. Skid plates line the bottom for protection, and tow hooks have been fitted for potential recoveries. Speaking of recoveries, tools such as tread boards and shovels are stored on the aftermarket roof racks. Within, the rear seats have been eradicated to make space for a custom made storage technique.

With two Sorentos, Kia has two groups entering. Just one of them is Kia’s group from previous 12 months, comprised of Alyssa Roenigk and Sabrina Howells. The second group is new with rally driver Verena Mei and navigator Tana White. They’ll be competing in the X-Cross class towards autos such as the aforementioned Mitsubishi Outlander and even the VW ID.four. The Rebelle Rally is by now underway and wraps up on Oct sixteen.
